Eric Sellin (1933-2021) was a retired professor of French and Comparative Literature who lived in Philadelphia where he devoted much of his time to writing, revising, and translating poetry. Sellin’s recent publications include: The Dimming and Other Poems (Shires Press, 2017); The Magic Mirror of Literary Translation: Reflections on the Art of Translating Verse (Syracuse University Press, 2021); and a co-translation (with Mbarek Sryfi) of Hassan Najmi’s The Blueness of the Evening (Arkansas University Press, 2018).
Sellin passed away shortly before the release of the Bassry collection featured here.
