Neville D. Frankel

Neville Frankel is an Emmy award-winning writer of literary and historical fiction.
A native of Johannesburg, South Africa, he immigrated to the US with his family at the age of 14.
Frankel received an Emmy for his work on a Frontline/BBC documentary and is the author of several works of historical
fiction: The Third Power, a well- reviewed political thriller about
the transformation of Rhodesia to Zimbabwe; Bloodlines, an apartheid-era novel called “fierce and thrilling” by Kirkus Review; and On the Sickle’s Edge, a National Jewish Book Award Finalist.
His latest novel merges historical fiction with magical realism, as it draws on Frankel’s experience as a boy growing up in Africa and his grandparents’ narrow escape from Nazi Germany.
Frankel has been a contributor to The Huffington Post and The Good Men Project. His writing has appeared in The LA Times, Lit Hub, Signature Magazine, and The Prosen People. A sought-after speaker, Frankel has participated in hundreds of presentations around the country and has been the guest of talk shows throughout New England.
In addition to writing, Neville is an avid painter and mountain hiker.
