Stanislav Belsky
Stanislav Belsky (Станислав Бельский) is a Russian language Ukrainian poet born in 1976 in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro). He has been published in many magazines, such as “Vozdukh,” “Arion,” “Novy Journal,” “Interpoezia,” and “Homo Legens.” He has published eighteen books of poetry in Russian, most recently Missile Launches Detected, Shelt
er-In-Place (2025), Friendly Conversations with Robots (2024), On Sunny Concrete (2023), and the novel Polyhedron (2025). Other books include: Scattered Light (2008), Birds Exist (2014), Underground Station Zavodskaya (2015), Travel Begins (2016), Cinematograph (2017), And Other Adventures (2018), Museum Of Names (2019), Mistaken Theorems (2020), The Book Of Returns (2021), Texts From a School Basement (2023), Quarantine Times (2023). A collection of his selected poem, «I versi migliori si sciolgono nell’aria» («The Best Poems Melt Into Air»), translated into Italian by Paolo Galvani, came out in 2023. His individual poems were translated into Polish and published in magazines like “Wizje” and “Helikopter”; “Tvar” in Czech; “Nekudataim” in Hebrew, and the literature blog “Poesia di Luigia Sorrentino” and magazine “Inkroci” in Italian. He is a translator of contemporary Ukrainian poetry to Russian, a curator of the poetry book series Тонкие линии [Thin lines] and a programmer by profession.
