The hero of these narrative poems is a harvester of scrap metal, an accomplice to a crime, a classic rock aficionado. His sweetheart, Cassiopeia, is a dancer at the Grease Factory. She is rebellious and fierce, with a steady source of earnings, mostly in form of dollar bills. Though the men who wave, throw, and tuck their bucks in her scant outfits, anger and depress our hero, it’s their tips that keep his world from collapsing. Ten Stars follows these lovers, for they are lovers, as they scrape to pay their rent, suffer lapses in loyalty, and angle for redemption.
