And ambiguity. \/ Often while appearing to speak plainly,&#8221; writes Ralph Adamo, and his new collection, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lavenderink.org\/site\/shop\/all-fall-down\/\"><em>All Fall Down<\/em>, Poems 2020-2024<\/a>, does indeed speak plainly to the complex ambiguities of our current condition. Take this short poem near the beginning of the collection:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">On a Beautiful Spring Day<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">a day when everybody and they mama was beautiful<br \/>like those days that turn around<br \/>and are gone<br \/>before you can<br \/>pin them to a page or<br \/>even a screen<br \/>those days swinging along<br \/>with your tongue hanging out<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Or this one near the end:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">2024<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">A beltway of recently traveled dreams<br \/>A galaxy of one\u2019s own choosing on the horizon<br \/>In the details, next to the Devil, was<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">[This might be about having to come up with<br \/>something<br \/>when nothing comes up]<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">was your own what it is is what is it<br \/>before there was a public on earth<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">all the terrified young soldiers<br \/>in all the wars in history<br \/>praying with closed eyes<br \/>could not stay the time<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Unfathomable light<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lavenderink.org\/site\/shop\/all-fall-down\/\">check out<\/a> all that comes between.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;I like poems that explore complexity.
